Mixing salt and baby powder is a great way to make some fake snow for your Christmas trees, but if you want the easiest solution, grab a tub of lightweight spackling paste from a hardware store and a stiff paintbrush. It's all you need for DIY fake snow, says EPBOT.
Dump a scoop of spackling into an old bowl (it'll wash out later with water, no worries), and then add a little water. Mix it up until you get a thin icing consistency.
Now just dip your chip brush into the spackle snow mixture, and start pouncing it on to your branches.
Applying large clumps will give you a look of thick, wetter snow, while brushing the mixture onto the tree will make it appear like a thin dusting of snow. If the snow appears too clumpy, add more water to your mixture. EPBOT hasn't given a perfect ratio of spackling to water, so you will need to experiment a bit. Oh yeah, and make sure it's lightweight spackling paste.
