SmartRings

A high-tech ring that promises to replicate many of the features found in the latest crop of smartwatches, but without strapping a brick to your wrist, is now one step closer to reality.

Here’s how to set yourself up for success in 2014

As the old saying goes: your goals don’t work unless you do. You will likely face bumps in the road and moments when you feel as though you’re not making progress. When this happens, remind yourself of all that you have done, refocus, and keep going.

Science

“This is completely new and very much simpler than anything that has been done before,” said Andrew Hodges , a mathematical physicist at Oxford University who has been following the work.

Flat. Like a streak across space. Thin. Stretched out. How come whenever we see galaxies, they always look like this

NASA has the answer. And it has something to do with how a ball of dough becomes pizza.

The Masks We Wear

The smiles and laughter we display are clever devices hiding our pains and sorrows we carry within us. While tears and heart break are displayed for all to see revealing the thin cracks of the mask that we wear, allowing a small portion of how we truly ache inside be seen from observers quietly watching for you to reveal yourself. - Se more..

Fairy Tales

Once upon a time, a lot of us grew up witnessing fairy tales unfold before our eyes through magical screens and through pages and pages tucked away in books. We grew up believing in and wanting our own happily ever afters. We dreamt of one day living the rest of their lives incredibly happy with someone who make our hearts skip a beat and makes us smile unlike no other person can. We believed that one day, the stories we’re a part of would turn in to our own fairy tales, and we would one day meet our Prince Charming or Cinderella.

Somewhere in life though, many of us grew up and became hesitant to believe in happily ever afters and one day we opened our eyes and realize those dreams we once had just faded away. And reality causes us to be cynical and scoff at how naive we once were to have dreamt for something that now seems like an impossibility. We let go of the concept of fairytales, for we let life defeat us in thinking it is not and will not ever be a fairy tale.

But tell me what’s wrong with dreaming for something amazing. What’s wrong with wanting to be like Cinderella and believing that love is not prejudiced no matter how much life brings your down and hopeless it seem. What’s wrong with wanting to be like Beast and believe that no matter how ugly you feel, the beauty inside you will shine through and love can prevail. Heck, what’s wrong with being Shrek and believing even when you feel like you’re not worth it and no one can love you, you can totally wrong and still be loved.

So just because you’re growing up, don’t let let your dreams fade and stop believing in fairy tales. Cause even though they are such a rarity and it seems like this world is too cruel to let such a thing come true, we should never stop dreaming to be happy. And one day, you’ll meet someone who will help you believe in fairy tales all over again and you will live happily ever after.

The One

I’ve always liked the concept of how there is “the one” out there for everyone out there in the world. You know what I mean, I’m talking about the one person that you’re suppose to end up with and have your own personal happily ever after with.

But idea of finding “the one” becomes almost improbably if not impossible when you realize there are billions of people who walk on this world and there is no way to achieve the daunting feat of knowing them, let alone meeting them all. That and the combination of experience of rejections and heartbreaks after thinking you found “the one” only to be proved otherwise causes you to lose faith in the whole idea. The sense of hopelessness sometimes kicks in when you no longer know what you’re suppose to be searching for and don’t know if you would realize it that you finally found that special person you been looking for all your life.

And after getting hurt and hurt over and over again on journey to find the one, and putting stereotypical remarks such as “All guys are jerks and all they want to do is have sex” and “All girls are sluts and all they want to do is use guys” as time goes by, most of us become cynical of love, and stop believing in it all together. We stop our search for the one and begin settling for anyone even if they hurt you, because we lose faith there is someone better out there for you.

But we should never give up on love no matter how hard it is to obtain. Love shouldn’t be easy to find, in fact it probably should be one of the most difficult things to get. If love and finding the one was easy, everyone on this earth would probably take it for granted and it would not be as special as it is now. Those moments of heartbreaks and getting hurt should not force us to give up, but rather they should make you appreciate what you have once you find the one. And when you finally find the one and fall in love, you’ll finally understand why all the other relationships didn’t work out and make all those tears shed worth it. So never stop your search for “the one”.

Love at First Sight

Do you believe in love at first sight?
I mean how could you believe in such non-sense, right? The whole concept of it is just ridiculous.
As I understand it, love is known or believed to be the greatest thing the human heart and soul could feel. A lot of people see love as the most difficult thing to obtain at times. Some people even search most of their lives for love and never find it.
So how could one second, just one glance, and one moment make you fall in love? It can’t be possible can it? But then I ask you one question if you don’t believe in love at first sight:
What does a mother feel when she sees her baby for the first time?
